Showing Up

This is a blog post by Boronia Personal Trainer, Grant Lofthouse

The message is simple in the game of health and fitness…

If you want to play ball and increase your chance of winning, then you’ve got to get off the bleachers and onto the field.

(or off the couch and into the gym 😉

Showing up is 50% of winning. Taking action is the other 50%.

At Strength Squad our clients who show up to most of their scheduled workout sessions, are active in our private Facebook group sharing recipes and offering support, and those who stay connected with their monthly check-in’s are also the ones who happen to get the best and most lasting results.
Shocking I know!

But the client who sporadically shows up to workouts… don’t bother to even try and trust our proven nutrition plans… and stays disconnected is most likely to fail and drift off into the sea of fat loss frustration despite our best efforts to keep them connected and involved.

We do everything we can to keep our clients accountable except for actually showing up at their door or cooking their dinner!

Yes you have to show up and do the work and meet us halfway.

Ever hear of DIANE CRUMP?

Diane was the first female race horse jockey to race in the Kentucky derby in America. But her climb to becoming one of the world’s best race jockey’s was not easy.

The horse owners wanted nothing to do with her. It was the ‘good ‘ol boys club” back then. And in those days (late 50’s and 60’s) horse racing was a man’s sport.

Never the less Diane kept showing up to the track every. single. day.

They refused to put her on a horse, no matter what.

She kept showing up any way.

She figured she’ll show up so much until one day they’ll get so sick of her that they’ll put her on a horse just to send her off.

Well, one day she got her big break and was asked to take a horse around the track. Man could she ride that horse!

Persistence and constant training paid off for Diane – she ultimately ended up being the fist female horse jockey to race in the coveted Kentucky Derby.

I hope the message I’m sending you hits home regarding your fitness.

It’s time to get going, gitty up and show up.

Participate and take pride in yourself.

Ask for help.

And celebrate in the glory of your progress. You deserve it!
