And here’s the transcript from the video if you prefer to read 🙂

I jumped off a coaching call this morning with a new personal training client who wanted me to work with them to have a successful year.

She admitted last year wasn’t very successful when it came to her health and fitness goals.

I believe she called it a “yo-yo year” where she tried everything and had some short term success but nothing really stuck and she’s back to square one.

This is what she tried last year…

– An online 12 week body transformation challenge.
– 2 x back to back 6 week ‘fat loss camps’ at a gym.
– A 4 week fat loss diet from a book she purchased.
– And another group personal training 12 week challenge to finish off the year.

You’ll be surprised at how many people are on the same boat as well.

The answer to her frustrations were actually quite simple. This is what I told her #1 focus will be in order to have a successful weight loss journey this year (and the same goes for you as well)…

A long term transformation.

No one has ever stayed in shape long-term from a 12 week body transformation challenge – ever!

A 12 week challenge will keep you in shape for….. 12 weeks.

If you want to stay in shape so you can hang around to see your kids and grand-kids grow up, to avoid all the associated risks with being overweight and to enjoy life…

… Then you need think long term and accept that there is no end date.

This will be the hardest pill for you to swallow because the majority of personal trainers are going to try and sell this to you on Facebook, TV and at their gyms this year.

Ignore the crowd and focus on this instead…

Aim to lose 0.5 kilos per week.

That’s it!

I know this doesn’t sound as sexy as losing 20 kilos in 12 weeks – but I can assure you that 80% of the people that do fall into the 12 week transformation trap will gain all the weight back on and usually some more.

If you do focus on the long term transformation and lose 0.5 kilos per week – at the end of 2016 you will have lost around 25 kilos without having to do the typical ‘transformation challenge stuff’.
